The 2010's

Football became stronger than it has ever been, and the quality of the game is immense, but at what cost? Thanks to the technology available, fans are now able to watch their team play live through a device whether a smart phone, TV, computer or tablet, from anywhere on the planet. The entire world of football is at your fingertips, for a price. As big business continues to take over, more and more and more fans began to be priced out of the sport, with others lamenting that thanks to safety measures, football games now lack the atmosphere they once had, and the game had begun to feel more corporate and sterile. Clubs are bought, essentially, as play things by billionaire Chinese and Saudi tycoons and the worlds best players have essentially became mercenaries, playing for the highest bidding teams with a total disregard for the club loyalty that once existed, and leagues are largely dominated by the richest teams, So where to from here? Only the future will tell.
